Anyone can sail a Solarwaterworld Sun Boat
Many people have already enjoyed a trip with our boats. It is safe and easy to sail a Suncat, and our team will provide you with a thorough introduction before departure. The only requirement is that the person steering the boat – the captain – must be at least 18 years old.
You are your own captain! Our Suncat21 boat can accommodate up to 8 people, while our larger Suncat23 boats have space for up to 12 passengers, including children and babies. We provide life jackets for everyone on board, and you are even welcome to bring your dog. A map in the boat shows the areas where you are allowed to sail. Feel free to bring your own picnic and enjoy a relaxing time on the water.

Food and drinks for the trip
When sailing in a Solar Water World Sun Boat, it's always a good idea to bring food and drinks on board. A little picnic at sea makes your time on the water more enjoyable.
You're always welcome to bring your own, but to make it a little easier, you can easily order food and drinks online from our friends at Mutter Lustig when you book your sailing trip. And just before the sail out time you go and pick up the food yourself.
How to be a good captain
Steering a Suncat boat with a wheel is similar to driving a car but on water. Here’s how to do it in a simple way:
Hold the wheel
- Place your hands on the wheel, just like a car.
- The wheel is connected to the rudders, which control the boat’s direction.
Turn the wheel to steer
- Turn right → The boat moves right (starboard).
- Turn left → The boat moves left (port).
- The boat does not turn instantly like a car—it takes a little time to respond.
Adjust speed for better steering
- Use the throttle (speed control) to move forward or slow down.
- Steering works best when the boat is moving. If you're going too slow, turning will take longer.
Keep a watchful eye on other boaters, swimmers ans SUP boards and always observe the direction of travel, react in good time as a boat cannot turn or brake very quickly. Always keep on the right, just like a road.

You can choose from different packages to suit your needs. Are you just looking for a cozy sailing trip or do you want luxury? You can add picnic baskets, hats, beanies, onboard entertainment and even get your own logo on the boats you sail in.
We offer packages from 24 people (3 boats) with 8 people in each boat. Our maximum simultaneous capacity is 288 people in Copenhagen, 24 in Odense and 56 in Aarhus. If your event is larger, we can send many more people out on the water over a few hours.

More than one and a half million people have sailed with us. It's safe and easy to sail our boats, and our crew provides all necessary instructions before departure. Only the person at the helm, the captain, must be at least 18 years old.

Hungry or thirsty?
When sailing with GoBoat, it's always a good idea to bring food and drinks on board. A picnic at sea makes the time on the water even more enjoyable!
You're always welcome to bring your own drinks and snacks or you can easily order food and drinks online when you book your sailing trip. And if you're looking for the finishing touch to your trip, you can still add more drinks and snacks at check-in.

How to be a good captain
To steer a GoBoat, place your dominant hand on the handle. Be aware that the handle steers in the opposite direction of where you point. To sail forward and backward, twist the handle to the right to move forward and to the left to reverse.
Keep a vigilant eye on other vessels and always adhere to the direction of travel. React in good time as a boat cannot turn or brake particularly quickly. As a general rule, keep to the right - as in traffic.
The yellow buoys indicate shallow water, so please keep a distance from these areas to prevent the boat from getting stuck.
